The most important usage about 就 may be the sentence pattern: 一 …… 就……
This pattern tells us that as soon as (一, yī) one thing happened, then (就, jiù) another thing happened immediately afterwards.
我一到上海，就给你电话。
wǒ yí dào shànghǎi , jiù gěi nǐ diànhuà
I will give you a phone call as soon as I arrive Shanghai.
她很害羞，一讲话就脸红。
tā hěn hàixiū, yì jiǎng huà jiù liǎn hóng
She is very shy. She blushes whenever she talks.
